This is a FireWire800 storage cluster with up to ~16 drives for possible capacities of 8 Terabytes. That's a lot of digital data, but it's cool because this system uses the new, faster FireWire800. A new diagnostic LCD display on this HSB III Series allows you to monitor fans, hard drives, temperature, activity and more.

Each drive bay has its own independent dedicated Oxford 912 FireWire800/1394b chipset. This makes the drives run faster, keeps them truly independent in the event of a drive or bridge failure, and each volume shows up as an independently labeled device in your system for easier diagnosis and management. The HSB III sets itself apart from all others because with drive bay is independently terminated this means you can spin-down a drive in the system without having to turn on and off the whole subsystem.

You will not find this in another product on the market. If your data is important, do not save a little because it will cost you much more down the road when you spend days-weeks putting your data back together again.
