This ExpressCard benefits you with 2 FireWire800 slots (2x - 9Pin) connectors. You can use different cables to match your particular FireWire peripherals depending on what you need. With the FireWire 800 protocol you can get transfer rates of 100, 200, 400, and 800 Mbps. Also for the best ROI, the 54mm Express Card slot is compatible so the 34mm will work in a 54mm slot but not vise-versa.
But high speed and superb hardware/OS compatibility is not all this card offers! Customers may also purchase the optional AC power adapter, that plugs into the power jack of the NitroAV card, to provide power to devices that do not have their own power source.

We would like to note, that when shopping, if the retailer does not advertise it is the Texas Instruments chip, it probably isn't. FirewireDirect always provides TI based FireWire cards. Also, beware of other brands that do not state the product uses the native TI PCI Express chip. There is a substantial difference in performance, if it is not the native version.
